Game Programming
80 KY-points
Game Programming educates alongside the graphical artist, developers of computer based, interactive systems. This part mainly focuses in the field of advanced 3D-graphics, because of this there is a logical link between the two directions Game Programming and Digital Graphics.
At SOFE the student gets the knowledge and experience needed to be a competent game programmer. The students starts out in C++ and from there moves at a quick pace towards more advanced programming with DirectX, which marks the starting point for rendering of graphics. MS Visual Studio works as the platform for software development. The applied mathematics that the students learn during their first year will be used throughout the whole education and evolve with time. Another important part of the school is to learn to work in bigger projects. During the second semester the students are divided into teams with both artists and programmers, the teams work for seven weeks to develop a game prototype. The game is then presented in front of a jury with people from the game industry. This course gives the students a great challenge and big possibilities for personal growth.
After a completed education the students could get hired as game programmer, 3D programmer, scripter, network programmer at a game or mobile phone company and also as a more general programmer at a company.
